How should I store my yardRink in the off season?

Proper off-season storage helps extend the life of your YardRink and ensures everything is ready to go for next winter. The most important part of storage is making sure all components are clean, completely dry, and stored in a dry, protected space.

Make Sure Everything Is Completely Dry

Before storing your YardRink components, it’s essential that everything is fully dry to prevent mold, mildew, or material damage.

  • Wipe down panels to remove any moisture or debris
  • Ensure all metal hardware is dry before packing
  • Allow the tarp to air dry completely on both sides before folding

Do not store any components while damp or wet.

Reuse Your Original Boxes

We strongly recommend keeping your original YardRink packaging. These boxes are designed to help protect and organize your system during the off-season.

  • Use original boxes to store panels and components
  • Group like items together (panels, hardware, stakes, tarp)
  • Keep small parts sealed in bags or containers to prevent loss
Choose a Dry Storage Location

Store all YardRink components in a location that is:

  • Dry and protected from moisture
  • Out of direct sunlight
  • Not exposed to extreme temperature swings

Good storage options include garages, basements, and sheds with weather protection.

Tarp Storage Tips

The tarp should be stored with care to maintain its condition:

  • Make sure it is fully dry before folding
  • Fold loosely rather than tightly creasing when possible
  • Store flat or gently folded in a dry container or box
Pro Tip

A little organization now goes a long way later. Keeping all hardware grouped and labeling boxes by component type will make next season’s setup faster and easier.
